木材的构造及分类
木材是一种非均质管状细胞构成的有限膨胀胶体，具有变异性和异向。木材的干燥特性和木材构造有密切的关系。木材的种类很多，其构造既有共性又有差异，这些差异是用户选择干燥设备和制定干燥工艺时，必须注意的问题。
所有的木材可归纳为针叶林和阔叶林俩类。
（1） 针叶林
如红松，油松，侧柏，水杉，冷杉等树种树叶形状类似针，称为针叶材，这类木材横切面上有看不见导管又叫无孔材，由于这类木材中的多数材质较软，又称软材。
（2） 阔叶林
如杨，椴，槐。柳等这些树种叶扁平宽阔。故称阔叶材。
又可以分为阔叶软材和阔叶硬材。
木材中的水分主要来源
木材中水分主要来源于把土壤中的水分通过树干输送到树叶，所以树干里含大量的水分。当活树被伐到并锯成各种规格的锯材后，水分的一部分或大部分仍然保留在木材内部，这就是木材水分的主要来源。
